Jesus values everyone according to how He created each of us. And because He created each of us, He knows each of us and values each of us. Jesus relates to us like a shepherd in our strength and weaknesses. ...
This is to express my gratitude to all of you who volunteered during Archbishop Sample’s visit with us, both in Brookings and Gold Beach. It was such a wonderful, spiritual time for all of us. ...
My dear brothers and sisters, blessings and guidance of Jesus the Savior to you! May I once again thank you for prayers and goodwill when some of us were in Rome and The Holy Land.
Thanksgiving Blessings to you and all families! We have many things to thank God for. No doubt sometimes life seems challenging and at other times it appears good, they are all part of life. Our forefathers and mothers who founded this nation struggled as well, but through faith and perseverance in God, it turned out as freedom and thanksgiving.
Thousands of pilgrims from the new saints' home countries -- Italy, El Salvador, Spain and Germany -- were joined by tens of thousands of others Oct. 14 in St. Peter's Square to celebrate the universal recognition of the holiness of men and women they already knew were saints. The new saints are....
The Blessings of Jesus the Savior to you all! Our convocation was spiritually rich and meaningful. Thank you for your prayers! Like I mentioned at the beginning of this year, our goal this year, among other things, will focus more on “Ministry” and “Faith Formation.” In the priest’s convocation we just concluded, the Archbishop deeply emphasized the need for us to evangelize with concrete pastoral planning that deeply promotes the unity of the Church (Communion Ecclesiology). This unity of faith and morals in our evangelization defines us as truly Catholic. For our own Star of the Sea parish pastoral council, .....
Faith remains our stronger connection with Jesus, the Savior. Prayer and perseverance constantly strengthen our faith. When we have strong faith, nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. The news of last week, about the failure of spiritual leaders to protect innocent children...
This year, we are once again celebrating the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We have so many things to learn about this important Solemnity of the Assumption every year. The Lord has something to teach us from the life of our Blessed Mother...
Scheduling with Jesus and handing our limitations over to God are very essential to our Christian call. To do that effectively, we first need to recognize our limitations, human weaknesses, and trust in God with faith. Effective prayer goes with faith, an open heart, and a good heart. With such virtues Jesus can always uplift us anytime, strengthens us, and always multiply for us. The feeding of the five thousand...
May I first thank you all for making the Installation ceremony successful. In a special way, I want to thank all those who coordinated volunteers who helped with the Liturgical activities, those who coordinated the hall, meals, the Knights, Pastoral council Chair, Finance Council, Sacristans, staff, Deacons, flower arrangers, Choir, Altar Servers, Lectors, Ushers, and other ministers and volunteers. Please, know that I am very grateful to all of you!
Forgiveness is a big mark of our Christian virtue. A good follower of Jesus and a good Christian can easily be noticed by his/her lifestyle of understanding, patience, love and forgiveness. We often hear people say things like, "Oh she/he is a very understanding person; he is a good person; or she is a good Christian; She is a good Catholic; she easily forgives."
Patience is a wonderful virtue Jesus requires all of us to have. There is an adage that says: “a patient dog eats the fattest bone.” Jesus, during his time on earth, was full of patience and understanding with everyone around Him. Even up to now, Jesus is still patient with each one of us. The Lord has not finished with anyone.
...On behalf of the parish, I want to congratulate our students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday. By the virtue of receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, they have taken a bigger spiritual step in their relationship with Jesus Christ. ...
