Each year each READER is given the WORKBOOK FOR LECTORS, GOSPEL READERS, AND PROCLAIMERS OF THE WORD. The book is arranged according to the liturgical year and is a great resource for understanding the readings for each Sunday of the year. Each reader has also been given a copy of Lector’s Guide to Biblical Pronunciations. Meetings are held as
needed to share ideas, concerns, and new directives from the clergy. Contact: Della DeRoest
Cursillo is “a short course in Christianity.” The Cursillo leader invites members of the parish who are in total communion with the church to make a Cursillo weekend. The Cursillo leader makes information literature available to interested church members and conducts regular 4th day meetings for all Cursillistas. Contact: Gary DeRoest
Responsibilities for this ministry include making sure that sufficient ministers are available for every Mass and special services. It is necessary to keep up to date on information related to this ministry and instruct other extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion as directed by the pastor. Contact: Gary DeRoest
Some of my responsibilities include opening and closing the church on days when Mass or other services are scheduled. The sacristan prepares the sacred vessels that are used at each Mass and cleans them at the conclusion of the Mass. I arrange for the cleaning of the altar linens, adjust and replace altar candles as needed, make sure there is on hand a sufficient supply of altar breads and wine, incense, charcoal etc. and set the lectionary and the book of gospels for the Mass of the day. Other responsibilities are too numerous to include here. Contact: Gary DeRoest
My responsibilities include making sure there are servers at every Mass, train new altar servers and fit them for altar serving vestments. It is also necessary to check and make sure these vestments are clean and well pressed. Contact: Gary DeRoest
